I grew up in Berlin in the post-reunification era, a time I remember as visually very rich and multifaceted. Old and new collided everywhere, forming an exciting aesthetic full of contrasts and creative chaos. Styles were simply tried, improvised and mixed, even those that seemingly didn't belong. This created an exciting and vibrant visual world, in which the only constant was an everlasting transformation and reinvention.
Inspired by these surroundings and driven by my early interests in photography, arts and film, I took my first steps by realizing documentaries for civic education projects, followed by an apprenticeship as an audio-visual media designer after which I continued to advance my profession at Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, where I studied cinematography and graduated with diploma in 2013.
Since then I work as freelance cinematographer for national and international cinema documentaries, television documentaries and feature films, many of which have been shown and awarded at film festivals around the world, including nominations and awards for best cinematography.
Interestingly, growing up and taking my first steps to learn the art of cinematography in the creative laboratory that Berlin was at the time, over the years I developed - while learning my profession - a strong need to give each project a very well defined, clear and authentic visual language.
